Description
The Famille Belondrade project in Priorat was born in 2016, as the result of an encounter with their friend Gonzalo Cores and the discovery of an impressive amphitheatre of terraces that they named Clos de l’Afaitador (Solanes del Molar).
Today, Adrets del Priorat comprises eight vineyard plots in the process of organic certification and has had its own winery in Torroja del Priorat since 2023. Altogether, they cover seven and a half hectares spread across several villages within the appellation. Each vineyard expresses a unique identity, shaped by altitude, orientation, planting patterns, and grape varieties.
The soil, dominated by licorella with streaks of clay and limestone, rises from 180 to 550 meters, staggering grape ripening over nearly six weeks. The steep slopes —ranging from 40 to 50%— demand intense manual labour and the use of winches, reinforcing the project’s artisanal spirit.
Among the most emblematic plots are L’Amphithéâtre, El Ventanal, and La Aguilera —planted in 1942, a living testament to the viticultural history of Priorat. The high planting density of most of these vineyards forces the roots to dig deep in search of water and nutrients, concentrating the mineral essence and energy of this rugged landscape.
At the heart of the vineyard lie Grenache and Carignan, complemented by smaller plantings of Syrah and a few old white vines.
Our wines are born with the vocation to faithfully and soberly reflect the spirit of Priorat: minerality, depth, and Mediterranean light.
